Medical Revolution… a rant

I am a documentary addict. I love the wealth of information that can be gleaned from well-written documentaries. Especially docs about food and nutrition.

What I want to discuss today is Dr. Max Gerson’s therapy by nutrition. His therapy has been discussed in two of my absolute favorite documentaries: Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead (available on Netflix instant watch) and Dying to Have Known (available to watch here: ).

I strongly urge you to watch both of these life changing films! I discuss “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” in my post ‘New Years ReVolution’; in this post I’m focusing on “Dying to Have Known” and Gerson’s therapy.

Sadly, most of Dr. Gerson’s contributions to leading medical journals are censored. The medical community disregards the fact that Dr. Gerson was able to CURE CANCER, TUBERCULOSIS, SKIN DISEASES and many other ailments because there is no “scientific proof.” This is due to the fact that the medical community requires such stringent criteria, clinical trials can only be proven if drugs were involved. WHAT?! You read right: DRUGS are the unwritten rule to determine if data is “scientific” or not. This is because clinical trials rely on and require only one variable. But Gerson Therapy – nutritional therapy – has many variables, since a variety of fruits and vegetables are the medicine as opposed to some little pill. To add fuel to this fire, US doctors are exposed to a minimum of nutritional education.

When you think about it, it all makes sense… drugs don’t cure diseases, but they make lots of MONEY. When you are sick, you give doctors and pharmaceutical companies your hard earned money and you are not cured. If doctors were able to cure all ailments, they would be redundant and you wouldn’t need them anymore.

Here’s the secret that Dr. Max Gerson wanted to share with the world: Fresh, raw, organic fruits and vegetables, eaten in high quantities will CURE whatever is wrong with you.

*Note: In North Carolina, it is illegal to prescribe nutrition to cure or treat disease, unless you are certified as a medical doctor or equivalent. Therefore it is important to note that I am merely reporting on facts that were discovered by a doctor, but am not advising anyone to do anything. [Read: Covering my ass.]

Dr. Gerson’s work is 75 years old now. His daughter Charlotte is still a strong advocate of his work, even as she ages. There is, however, another doctor who has carried the Gerson torch, and you may have heard of him: Dr. Joel Fuhrman. I’ll write about this amazing man [he’s a hero of mine] in another post, as I have read his work and followed his advice for years. He’s incredible!

Both of these doctors understood the same basic concepts: 1) fake, processed, antibiotic-ridden, genetically modified foods are directly correlated with increased cancer, diabetes and obesity. 2) Real, organic whole foods reverse damage to our bodies and cure sickness. There’s an inverse correlation between nutrition and healthcare. Nutrition declines, healthcare demand increases. It makes me sad that the nation is more concerned with its dollar than with its lives.

Here’s the thing. Nature is perfect all by itself. Nature does not need mankind or anything else to meddle in its business or “enhance” it. Which is why I’m so wary of GMO’s but that is a different discussion for another time. Think back to the movie “Jurassic Park”… Man fucks with nature, nature will fuck with man.

Yet another doctor understood this, and summed up what I’ve been attempting to discuss perfectly: “Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.” – Dr. Albert Einstein.

The bottom line here is that pure unadulterated raw food is the best key to overall health. Growing up we’ve all been told “eat your vegetables!” Hopefully this information will help you to understand how crucial your choices for food are. Remember… you are what you eat. You can be colorful, pure and vibrant. Or dull, processed and pumped full of drugs. The choice is yours.

Peace, Love & Veggies

About katnissg

In high school I was always in shape- i was on the swim team and could eat whatever I wanted. Then came college. Beer, pizza, macaroni and cheese, plus a dingy gym facility that made you feel you needed a shower before you even broke a sweat skyrocketed my weight up to nearly 200 lbs. 2 years after I graduated and had a steady job, I broke up with my boyfriend, moved closer to work (eliminating a 45 minute commute) and revolutionized the way I eat. I lost 60 lbs and felt amazing. These days I love learning about health, clean eating, and food activism. I am a Revolutionary Eater.
